Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

Weather over the Perito Moreno glacier. Ice calving, also known as glacier calving or iceberg calving, is the breaking off of chunks of ice at the edge of a glacier. It is a form of ice ablation or ice disruption. It is the sudden release and breaking away of a mass of ice from a glacier, iceberg, ice front, ice shelf, or crevasse. The ice that breaks away can be classified as an iceberg, but may also be a growler, bergy bit, or a crevasse wall breakaway.

Calving of glaciers is often accompanied by a loud cracking or booming sound before blocks of ice up to 60 metres (200 ft) high break loose and crash into the water. The entry of the ice into the water causes large, and often hazardous waves. The waves formed in locations like Johns Hopkins Glacier can be so large that boats cannot approach closer than 3 kilometres (1.9 mi). These events have become major tourist attractions in locations such as Alaska.

Many glaciers terminate at oceans or freshwater lakes which...

THE FINEARTAMERICA WATERMARK WILL NOT APPEAR ON ANY ORDERED ARTWORK. I am a retired physician with a longstanding keen interest in photography. I have been photographing for many years and have taken a variety of courses. I continue to be and have been juried into many art shows and I have won many awards in various contests I have entered. I have had several works at the Collectors Corner gift shop at the Toledo Art Museum. I have pieces in several art galleries, offices and restaurants. The Chop House in Toledo and Real Seafood in Naples have many of my images. My photographs are all actual photographs some of which have been "altered by photopainting" or manipulated for special effects on the computer rather than in the darkroom...
